- I had in mind a renaissance styled ring when I made this 18k gold ring and bezel-set the boat-shaped chalcedony cabochon. The luscious chalcedony is an uncommon orange color.
- This is a luxury item, without a doubt. Including the large yummy 15ct orange chalcedony, the ring weighs 28 grams, or just under 1 ounce.

- Orange Chalcedony
- Chalcedony is often found in blue, and less commonly in the bright orange seen in this stone. Other colors of chalcedony have distinct names. Carnelian is a type of chalcedony that is typically brownish-red. Jasper and agate are other forms of chalcedony. It is a hard stone (6 to 7 on the Mohs scale) and is a strong and durable gem for rings.
